The time has come for fake bands and poser shitheads to step aside. Mississippi's BURN THE MASSES has come to take a giant crap on everything you consider sacred about metal and music in general. Devoid of gimmicks and imagery, the grind powerhouse known as BTM are the focal point of sonic violence that few other even dare to tread on. Formed in the winter of 2002 by guitarist Scott Griggs, the band had only one idea: create the most obnoxious and unfriendly nonsense they could muster. With the addition of raging retard vocalist Charles White in the spring of 2003, BTM managed to fulfill their goal of being the most hated and despised band in the Memphis scene. Several lineup changes had the band taking many time-consuming hiatuses, but despite problems with flaky band members, Scott and Charles managed to push the band into two well-recieved DIY releases and two U.S. tours playing to packed houses all over the country. Considered by some to be one of the hardest working bands in the extreme scene, BTM eventually gained the respect of those that had written them off as a joke before. In the fall of 2006, the band were approached by fledgling record label, Threaten Mainstream, and offered a record deal which led to BTM flying in drumming powerhouse Jeremy Nissenbaum (Despotic Robot / Lecherous Nocturne) to record their first full-length album, titled "Blast Humanity". Taking stabs and poking fun at everything and everyone (including extreme music), "Blast Humanity" is the soundtrack to a global meltdown and takes the concept of being obnoxious to new levels and pushes offensiveness into the realms of the ridiculous. Prepare to be pissed on. BURN THE MASSES are here to steal your beer, kick you in the throat and make fun of your shitty metal records. Die.
